Supporting SAFE
The Society of Annuity Facts and Education (SAFE) is a new non-profit charitable organization for American consumers. Our focus and objective is providing objective information, education and analysis about the appropriate use of annuity products in financial and retirement planning.
SAFE was founded in 2012 by leaders in the insurance, annuity and related fields who saw a void for a clear voice and a strong and independent champion for Americans seeking to ensure ongoing financial resources throughout their retirement. To this day, many Americans are unaware of the ability of annuity products to grow, protect and extend existing income for one’s entire life. SAFE was created to inform and educate consumers about all annuities. We do not and will not represent the sales and marketing interests of insurance and annuity organizations.
In 2019, SAFE will be engaged in an aggressive development campaign with corporate and individual supporters to create an operating fund for the next five (5) years at a minimum of $350,000 per annum. This would allow SAFE to begin to engage in normal operational activities, including the continued development of a fully functioning website, public relations and marketing activities, as well as fundraising and grant writing efforts for special programs and projects. These projects include the creation of a video series for consumers, a consumer buyers guide on annuities, and, eventually, a national advertising campaign designed to create greater awareness of Annuities. We plan to use our comprehensive educational efforts to attract millions of consumers to SAFE’s easy-to-access website.
With the resources raised by this campaign, SAFE seeks to fully launch an updated website, featuring a multimedia centerpiece educational tool focused on different demographic market segments which will enable users to understand how annuity products might help them. The website will also feature videos, calculators, FAQs, and available research on the viability of annuities within the retirement and financial planning process. This launch will be supported by concurrent public relations and marketing efforts. SAFE will become more active in the promotion of Annuity Awareness Month slated for June 2019.
